But how can you do that? By getting to know your own cycle, finding out what your body needs and how you can actively help it. In her cycle guide, Manuela talks about the biological and energetic processes as well as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/the-taboo-of-menstruation-a-long-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">historical and cultural background<\/a>, tips and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/8-ways-to-practice-self-care-during-your-period\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tricks for self-care<\/a>, the most important remedies for natural treatment, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/menstruation-social-taboos-and-discrimination\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">taboos<\/a>&nbsp;and facts about&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/category\/period-products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">menstrual products<\/a>. In our interview, she now explains to us the best healing and home remedies for cycle discomfort for a&nbsp;healthy and natural&nbsp;cycle.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can you please introduce yourself briefly?<\/h3><p>My name is&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.manuela-kloibhofer.at\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Manuela<\/a>&nbsp;and I&nbsp;work with people as a&nbsp;Hara Shiatsu practitioner, psychologist and herbal expert. My main focus is on women\u2019s discomfort,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/natural-family-planning-contraception-without-hormones\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">childbearing<\/a>&nbsp;and psychosomatic issues, and I&nbsp;also host workshops on primordial feminine power, herbal medicine and bodywork.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How did you come up with the idea for the&nbsp;book?<\/h3><p>I found it frightening that we menstruators are always suggested only painkillers and hormones as a&nbsp;therapy for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/why-do-we-experience-period-pain-and-what-is-normal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">menstrual cramps<\/a>, \u2013 as if there is nothing else. But there are many effective alternative healing and home remedies for menstrual cramps! My heart\u2019s desire was and is to reach as many&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/why-are-we-using-the-term-menstruating-people\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">menstruating people<\/a>&nbsp;as possible to show them what they can do themselves for their cycle health. They should trust in their own body again and find self-empowerment for a&nbsp;healthy menstruation. This is how the idea for \u201cWomen\u2019s Blood\u201d was&nbsp;born.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What was your journey like from the idea to the finished&nbsp;book?<\/h3><p>Phew, what a&nbsp;question! \ud83d\ude09&nbsp;It was a&nbsp;long, work-intensive, but also very educational and fulfilling process totaling about four years. I&nbsp;have read just about every book on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/menstruation-101-the-most-important-period-facts-explained\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">menstruation<\/a>&nbsp;and women\u2019s health since the 1970s that I&nbsp;could get my hands on. I&nbsp;have questioned my clients and friends even more intensively than usual about&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/category\/menstruation-around-the-world-en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">their experiences<\/a>&nbsp;and attitudes towards lunar bleeding, and I&nbsp;have surrendered even more consciously to my own cycle phases in order to really savor them and to gain deeper access to my primal femininity.<\/p><p>In addition, it was also a&nbsp;gathering of the most successful herbal recipes from my practice and trying out more techniques. It was like a&nbsp;small initiation into \u201cwomanhood\u201d, \u2013 also like a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/sex-toys-during-pregnancy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pregnancy<\/a>. At times I&nbsp;felt that if I&nbsp;didn\u2019t bring this book into the world, I&nbsp;would burst or my body would get sick. It simply had to be that this heart project could be realized. And so I&nbsp;quickly found the right publisher for \u201cFrauenblut\u201d in Herbig.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What was your most beautiful moment during the project \u201cFrauenblut\u201d?<\/h3><p>As I&nbsp;said, the work itself was very fulfilling. But the best thing is always to be able to directly experience the success with your own clients. For a&nbsp;long time I&nbsp;probably also wanted to prove to myself and the world that I&nbsp;was \u201ca better man\u201d. As a&nbsp;result, I&nbsp;unconsciously ignored or suppressed many aspects of my femininity and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/cycle-awareness-in-harmony-with-ones-own-body\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cyclicality<\/a>. As I&nbsp;turned to bodywork and naturopathy, I&nbsp;realized more and more that the supposedly linear world we live in is actually an illusion, because everything in nature is cyclical. We are subject to a&nbsp;day-night, seasonal rhythm, lunar cycle, etc., and precisely also the menstrual cycle. I&nbsp;wanted to live my true nature, and so I&nbsp;just couldn\u2019t get around my very own body rhythm.&nbsp;\ud83d\ude09<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do healing and home remedies for cycle discomfort&nbsp;work?&nbsp;<\/h3><p>The greatest advantages of the healing and home remedies for cycle discomfort presented in the book are probably the following:<\/p><ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>They can&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/how-mindfulness-can-be-supportive-during-the-period\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">heal the cause of the discomfort<\/a>&nbsp;and are not just pure symptom fighters like painkillers or artificial hormone doses. The word \u201cnegative\u201d is in brackets because there can be many positive side effects.<\/li><\/ol><p>Not only does c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulvani.com\/en\/the-power-of-sounds-an-app-for-period-pain-relief\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ycle discomfort disappear<\/a>, but we feel ourselves more clearly, get to know our own body better and learn to listen to its signals. We become more in tune with the natural waves of our cycle, life often becomes more harmonious and our environment often magically changes its behavior. But this is a&nbsp;very natural and logical process, because the more we live in harmony with our true nature, the more positively our environment reacts to&nbsp;us.&nbsp;<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What natural remedies and home remedies for cycle discomfort can you recommend?&nbsp;Why?<\/h3><p>This is probably the hardest question to answer because there are so many! I&nbsp;love the support from the plant kingdom, for example, mugwort, yarrow, lady\u2019s mantle, goose cinquefoil and shepherd\u2019s purse are very dear helpers and allies to me. However, for the herbs to work well, they need to be well matched to the particular ailment and the particular person. In \u201cFrauenblut\u201d you will find several recipes that have proven themselves in practice, but also on&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/manuela-kloibhofer.at\/index.php\/infocenter\/blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">my blog<\/a>&nbsp;I&nbsp;always present recipes, healing and home remedies for cycle discomforts and medicinal herbs. In case of cramps before or during the period, daily ginger compresses often help wonders. You should start one week before your period. A&nbsp;good way to become aware of our own cycle waves in the first place is self-observation. A&nbsp;cycle diary is a&nbsp;good companion here.
